The class sailing this Sunday is IOM

Originally intended to keep club members up to date with results, the latest standings of the annual trophies, announcements etc. as well as a place to gather via the forum, the site is getting quite a number of hits from further afield, so I thought it was about time to say a little bit about the club & provide a way to contact us.

The Club sails at Hykeham Sailing Club most weekends; We normally sail three class of radio yacht:

Occasionally you might see an R6M, and me with a big grin :)

IOM & RM skippers gather on a Sunday morning, Lasers on an Saturday afternoon

The Sunday morning crowd tend to be more competitive than the folk on Saturday with the Lasers. IOM & RM events are organised March to October (See Calendar), pretty much every weekend except Bank Holidays. Don't let that put you off coming to say hi & join in though. We aim to start racing about 10:00 with a skippers briefing at 09:45. Someone's usually around from 09:00, earlier if I manage to get out of bed :)

The format is usually six races with a break at half time, we aim to be finished racing around 12:00 ish. The Sundays Details box above will tell you what event's on & the image to the left should be of the class that's competing.

The winter season is also well attended, alternating the classes on a Sunday and tending to run a race schedule, although not quite as seriously as we do during the summer.

If you don't have a boat yet then come and talk to us, someone's bound to thrust a transmitter into your hand before long.
